La Princesse des Paons

Long ago, in southwestern China, there was a kingdom called Mengbanjia. One day, while out hunting, the prince met Nannona, the Peacock Princess, and fell madly in love with her. He married her. But the wicked chancellor, who had thought the prince would marry his daughter, wanted to break up the marriage. He devised a scheme to send the prince away and kill Nannona. But she managed to escape and returned to the land of the peacocks. After many trials, the prince was reunited with his beloved, and from that day forward, they lived happily in the kingdom of Mengbanjia.
